Forklift Operator

About our Client:

bailey personnel is a leading staffing solutions provider to the aviation and logistics sector, with National clients based at Melbourne Airport and surrounding area's, we are currently seeking an experienced Warehouse Storeperson with Forklift license looking for long term opportunities in the logistics sector. We are looking for applicants with a CAN DO attitude that are available to commence immediately!  This opportunity could lead to a permanent position for the right person who displays commitment to the role, a willingness to learn the operation, flexibility for overtime, is haighly responsible and mature minded, and isfit and healthy - must be able to safety and efficiently carry out manual labour tasks required within these operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manual handling will be required
• Forklift operations, minimum 2 years experience
• Loading/unloading trucks - must have exterience with double pallets/long tynes
• Loading/Unloading airfreight, seafreight and road freight
• Sound knowledge of Warehouse operations and the Melbourne metro area
• Warehouse operations will be the main requirement of this position, looking for someone who shows initiavtive and responsibiity to ensure tasks are completed to strick timeframes

Selection Criteria:

• Able to commit to long term position, penalty rates apply for overtime worked.  Usual hours are Monday-Friday 6am or 7am starts through to the job is done (usually 4pm - 6.30pm)
• Current Forklift licence with minimum 12 months experience
• Excellent forklift experience is required in this fast paced operation
• Current Victorian HR licence
• Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
• Ability to work independantly as well as part of a team
• Ability to follow instructions
• Able to pass pre employment forklift assessment and all training required for the Aviation sector
• Able to pass an Australian Federal Police Check and a pre-employment medical examination
• Physically fit to carry out manual labouring tasks
