Forklift Operator Melbourne Airport

About our Client:

bailey Personnel is a leading staffing solutions provider to the aviation sector, with National clients based at Melbourne Airport and surrounding areas, we are currently seeking experienced forklift operators looking for long term opportunities in the Airfreight sector. We are looking for applicants with a CAN DO attitude that are available to commence immediately!  This opportunity could lead to a permanent position for the right person who displays commitment to the role, a willingness to learn the operation, flexibility for overtime as required and is fit and healthy - must be able to safety and efficiently carry out manual labour tasks required within these Airfreight operations.

Due to a high conversaion of temp - perm staff, we now require additional staff to join the bailey personnel team!

Key Responsibilities:

• Manual handling
• Safety minded
• RF scanning
• Breaking down/build ups of various freight for Import and Export
• Forklift operations
• Loading/unloading trucks

Selection Criteria:

• Able to commit to 24/7 roster, penalty rates apply for afternoon, night, weekends and public holiday roster shifts for Melbourne Airport based positions
• Day shift positions available off Airport sites - must be flexible to do overtime as required in the busy Airfreight sector
• Current Forklift licence with minimum 12 months experience
• Current Victorian drivers licence
• Unlimited working rights in Australia due to potential overtime requirements and potentail for perm position
• Mature minded and responsible with a high attention to detail
• Able to pass a full pre emplyment medical
• Able to pass an Australian Federal Police Check 
• Physically fit to carry out manual labouring tasks
• Excellent communication - both written and verbal is required
• Able to pass pre employment fork lift assessment and associated training requirements to be job ready for the Aviation sector
• Must be willing to purchase an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) at a cost of $230 once your start date has been confirmed, ASIC is valid for 2 years and is a requirement for all staff who work at Melbourne Airport
